Lying Barbell Extensions
TheYouTriceps - Lying Barbell Extensions
This exercise is used to work the triceps. It is very useful to have a training
partner for this exercise.
The exercise
- Find a flat bench and lie down on your back.
- Put your feet flat on the floor, with a shoulders width apart.
- Place your hands behind your head and let your training partner give you the
barbell.
- Take a narrow (slightly narrower then shoulder width) grip on the barbell, while
keeping your upper arm vertical.
- For reaching the starting position, push the barbell up until your arms are
vertical above your chest.
- Slowly move the barbell back down, moving only your forearms.
- End the downward movement when the barbell is nearly touching your forehead.
- Push the barbell back up, while still holding your upper arm in a fixed
position.
- Repeat the exercise

- Perform the exercise in a controlled manner throughout the entire exercise.
- Let your training partner help you, if you have trouble reaching your desired
number of repetitions. Your training partner can help by slightly pushing the
middle of the barbell in a steady upward movement.
